Rich in vegetable protein!

Unlike what you think amaranth is not part of the family of cereals, but of that of amarantacce which includes more than 500 species. Amaranth is a native of Central America, a staple of Aztec and Inca tribes. Besides the leaves are consumed, precious beans as seeds. From a nutritional point of view amaranth highlights a high content of protein, with twice the lysine (essential amino acid deficient in cereals). It also contains plenty of fiber and minerals: calcium, iron, phosphorus, and magnesium.

Reduces cholesterol and saturated fats!

high fiber content

promotes bowel regularity

source of magnesium

rich in vitamin B6

Since it tends to form a gelatinous film after cooking, we recommend that you combine it with other cereals or legumes. Also, having a very small kernel size and texture "crisp", can be used as such in baked goods (bread, cookies, tarts ...). Amaranth, cooked in a pan, bursts like corn to popcorn. If you instead used in soups follow possibly these indications.

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Water/corn Ratio: 2/1

Despite TiBioNa brand cereals are all thoroughly ventilated (process that removes impurities read), calibrated (a process that selects the best beans), spiettrati (process that eliminates the pebbles), selected in videosurveillance asymmetric sight (process that eliminates unripe, stained, etc.), we recommend in any case to carry out a further wash under running water. Very useful in this case using a strainer or a colander.
